GreenStar™ 2 1800 Display

The integrated user interface module is easy to use. The display is equipped with a home screen button that leads to a help-wizard that takes an operator through the setup process.

The 480 by 160 pixels can be utilized to show additional data like machine performance data. Speed, distance travelled, and fuel usage per area, is available in the performance monitor.

The integrated display control features a scroll wheel and 14 buttons.

The Home button has different functionalities. It provides:

Direct link to homepage.
Ability to toggle between homepages (three are supported).
Display standby mode when button is pressed for longer than three seconds. This dims the screen and turns off incidental audio alerts. Standby mode can be used during transport from field to field. Simply press any button or turn the thumb wheel to restore the screen to full brightness and audio alerts.
Two options for data entry. If numbers need to be entered, the selected field will be highlighted and numbers will increase or decrease by turning the rotary thumb wheel. If characters can be entered into the selected field, a screen will pop up when the field is selected. The cursor can be moved via the thumb wheel. Characters can be selected via the accept button on the user interface module.

Transfer data to other displays or desktop software

USB data stick with GS2 1800

The GreenStar 2 (GS2) 1800 has two Universal Serial Bus (USB) data ports protected on the front of the display. The system is equipped with 128 MB RAM and 512 MB Flash Drive. A light-emitting diode (LED) in the front is providing status information. The USB will be used for product updates as well as transferring the following:

Guidance lines
Boundaries
Client, farm, and field information

All data comes in and exits through the USB port on the front of the display. This provides convenience since most computers today are built with at least one USB port.

Client, farm, and field data along with guidance lines and boundaries can all be saved to a desktop software package for future use.

Record field totals with Documentation Basics

GreenStar™ 2 1800 Display documentation cycle

The GreenStar 2 (GS2) 1800 Display can now be used to document and report basic field data. With John Deere Documentation Basics, the GS2 1800 Display automatically records all totals data coming from an ISOBUS implement as soon as a field is selected. Additional information like client/farm/field and machine information are optional. For all other implements that do not provide totals data via ISOBUS, there is functionality to start the recording manually.

All documented information can be stored in the following three different formats and transferred to a Universal Serial Bus (USB) drive:

PDF reports can be stored and printed without any farm desktop software.
CSV field information can be further processed with most spreadsheet programs.
ISOXML field information can be tied into most farm desktop software.

Upgrades

John Deere precision agricultural technology provides multiple opportunities to upgrade. Producers can confidently invest in technology today, knowing it can grow and change as their operations do. Producers can contact a John Deere dealer to learn more about available solutions.

Software upgrade

Producers have the ability to upgrade signal accuracy with activations on the receiver only and no need to update AutoTrac™ assisted steering system display activation.

John Deere dealers offer an upgrade option for all AMS software applications from a previous to newer model.

Hardware upgrade

Producers also have the ability to upgrade to the latest displays and receivers.

Maximizing investment cost

Many of the same solutions available with AutoTrac are compatible with the GreenStar system using AutoTrac Controller or AutoTrac Universal. Additional solutions available include John Deere Active Implement Guidance, John Deere Section Control, and the GreenStar Rate Controller.

This provides many options with one constant: stretching the producer’s money to bring more optimization to all equipment.
