John Deere Kids Channel
YouTube channel boasts a growing fan base.
John Deere set out to inspire the next generation by meeting kids where they already were—on YouTube. With billions of users and most U.S. children watching daily, the platform offered an ideal place to spark curiosity. So on October 31, 2020, the John Deere Kids channel launched as a safe, engaging space for kids to learn, play, and dream big.
From the start, the mission was clear: educate and inspire. Through videos featuring real farming, construction, and animal life, the channel encourages kids to explore the world around them, building problem‑solving skills and a "can‑do" spirit.
As Brooke Schmidt, global licensing category manager, puts it, "Our YouTube Kids channel is more than entertainment—it's a gateway to learning and discovery." Behind the scenes the team dreams up ideas to connect with young viewers. Unsurprisingly, baby animals, tractors, and construction equipment top the list.
With more than 75 videos—and counting—the channel has grown to over 55,000 subscribers and more than 150 million minutes watched. For John Deere, that success reflects more than numbers. It reinforces the company's commitment to innovation and education in a digital‑first world. By creating content that sparks curiosity and celebrates hands‑on learning, Deere is planting seeds for future generations to understand the importance of agriculture and machinery.
"The John Deere Kids YouTube channel is a key part of Deere's broader youth strategy. Through fun, kid‑safe content, we help children spark their imaginations and develop an early love of the land—while gently introducing them to who John Deere is and what we stand for," says Schmidt. This content helps kids connect with Deere's mission and values, preparing the innovators, problem solvers, and brand advocates of tomorrow. ‡
