The heavy-duty epicyclic knife drive gearbox provides an enhanced knife-drive system that increases drive capacity with less vibration and improved reliability.
John Deere’s single-point header latching system provides combine operators a fast and easy method for connecting all front-end equipment. One easy motion of the lever connects the electrical and hydraulic circuits along with header retaining pins.
Feature benefit:
Functionality:
The enhanced single-point latching system, starting in model year 2016, will include a valve assembly mounted to all platform and corn head back sheets. These assemblies will include an orifice valve unique to the header type as well as a pressure override valve. Together, these ensure optimum performance and reliability of header hydraulic functions.
Compatibility for prior headers or combines to model year 2016 equipment is provided by attachments specific to the header and combine being used.
The HydraFlex system hydraulically controls the float of the cutterbar by a simple turn of a knob in the cab. This provides exceptional cutterbar flexibility throughout the entire working pressure range. Higher ground speeds can be accomplished with HydraFlex, compared to the conventional float systems.
Feature benefit:
In automatic mode, the operator sets a desired cutterbar ground pressure, and the system will maintain this setting. If a different set point is desired, the operator adjusts the encoder on the armrest board, and an updated cutterbar float pressure reading will be shown on the cornerpost display. For increased ground following in uneven terrain, decrease cutterbar pressure to make the cutterbar heavy to the ground. If soil pushing occurs, increase the cutterbar pressure to make the cutterbar lighter to the ground.

The reel relief valve protects the reel from damage when cutting short, heavy, wet crops that are down and tangled.
The valve allows the reel hydraulic motor to go into relief-pressure mode to stall the reel and reduce potential damage.
Auger flight extensions along with the rear auger stripper help bring crop to the center of the feederhouse opening for improved feeding performance.
This field-installed header height sensing attachment for 620F, 622F, 625F, 630F, and 635F HydraFlex™ Platforms adapts ground-contacting sensors for use when the flex cutterbar is locked into the rigid position:
The attachment is for use with 50, 60, 70, and S-Series Combines only. The combines must be equipped with header height sensing. The sensors are compatible with combines equipped with the lateral tilt feederhouse.
NOTE: Combines prior to PIN 715101 require a dealer-installed software upgrade (Service ADVISOR™ diagnostics system).

In certain field conditions, when harvesting with 600 Series cutting platforms attached to pre-60 Series combines equipped with tall drive tires (for example, 35.5x32-in. or 42-in. dual wheels), it may not be possible to obtain the desired or optimum cutting bar angle. This is due to the extreme height of the drive tires, especially if used in conjunction with the tall 18.4x30 or 28Lx26 high-flotation rear steering tires.
The wedge kit allows the lower frame of the platform to be tilted upward to any one of three different degrees when attached to the combine so the desired cutter bar angle adjustment can be obtained.
The following chart and illustration below can be used to help determine if the wedge kit is required on the platform for the combine being used.
Position machine on flat level ground with platform removed.
Position feederhouse so face is perpendicular to the ground. To check this, a bubble level can be placed on the face of the feederhouse.
Measure distance (A) between the center of feederhouse drive shaft and the ground.
Compare dimension to table and determine amount of wedge angle required.

The raised cut-height skid shoes option helps to provide added protection in field conditions where excessive rocks and other field debris are present or tall, damp, high residue from double-crop operations exists within the standard low-height cutting range of the 600 Series Flex Platforms. The raised-cut-height design of this skid shoe increases the cutterbar cutting height from 38 mm (1.5 in.) to 63 mm (2.5 in.).
Feature benefit:
The raised cut-height skid shoes raise the cutterbar. This keeps the knife farther from the ground where excessive rocks and other field debris are present. The raised cut-height skid shoes also raise the cutterbar to keep the knife clean when harvesting in high residue from double-crop operations.
Three programmable reel position settings will optimize platform performance while minimizing header losses. The operator can preselect three different reel positions for specific field conditions and can access these while harvesting, simply by touching the activation buttons on the multifunction hydro handle.
Feature benefit:
Functionality:
Adjust the reel height and fore-aft position to an optimal position then press the 1, 2, or 3 button on the multifunction control lever until arrows on each side of the symbol indicates that the system is active. This will save that reel position for that button which can be done for each number on the handle.
The stainless-steel feed plates on the 600F Series Platforms have a flat profile. This along with the stainless-steel material, results in smoother feeding into the platform auger. The 600F offers an optional tall stone dam at the cutterbar to help prevent rocks from entering the platform.
Feature benefit:
The flat feed plates also allow a consistent clearance between the reel and cutterbar improving crop flow from the cutterbar to the auger.
