John Deere’s approach to managing your data is straightforward: YOU control your business data. Through the John Deere Operations Center, we’ve given you the capability to seamlessly share your business data with a trusted advisor – like your dealer or an agronomist – to support your operation. But our approach means you can also choose not to share your business data with anyone. YOU control your business data, and YOU choose who, if anyone, has access to it.
Ag Data Transparent Certification
In 2018, John Deere was the first agriculture equipment manufacturer to receive the Ag Data Transparent (ADT) certification. Established in partnership with farmer-led organizations like the American Farm Bureau Federation, ADT developed a set of Ag Data Core Principles – including the areas of data control, transparency, portability, and security – to help farmers and ranchers understand how their data is used.
Data Security
Because of the trust you put in us to manage your data, we take the responsibility of protecting your data seriously. In fact, John Deere has a team dedicated to continuously monitoring and protecting data. Since 2022, we’ve also partnered with HackerOne, a cybersecurity company that looks for data vulnerabilities, to examine John Deere’s applications and network. If vulnerabilities are found, they are assessed by Deere in an effort to fix them.
Transparency in How Your Data is Managed
- John Deere does NOT sell individual customer data.
- Deere DOES use aggregated, anonymized data to improve products or develop new products or services that deliver customer value and to inform product portfolio forecasting.
- We safeguard customer data and honor the permissions they set for sharing it with others.
John Deere customers can access, download, and delete their data at any time.
