From rows to results - how one farm turned data into trust and profit.

Clint Reiss always knew his future was on the farm. In 1996 he returned home to help grow the family operation in Southwest Kansas—a fifth-generation grain farm known as Southwest Family Farms. They raise corn, soybeans, and wheat, guided by a commitment to sustainability and stewardship. His brother joined him and by 2009 they had formed a partnership with their parents—four voices, one vision.

They run all John Deere equipment, but the real shift came in 2017 after Clint and his brother took an Excel for Ag course. That's when they discovered Harvest Profit. It changed everything.

With Harvest Profit they track input costs, grain contracts, and break-even points in real-time. If fertilizer prices shift in season, they adjust instantly. Clint's dad checks the app daily. If the numbers look good, he'll call and say, "Sell some grain today." Price changes spark conversations, keeping everyone informed and aligned.

It's become their communication backbone. With four partners, Harvest Profit ensures transparency and shared understanding. It guides crop rotations, insurance decisions, and marketing strategies. Clint handles grain marketing—a role often second guessed—but the data helps explain decisions and builds trust.

Harvest Profit helps them compare past input costs, simplifies their year-end accounting, and enables them to make smarter financial moves. "The biggest thing that made it the most valuable is the integration with John Deere Operations Center™ and how accurate it is. It has reduced a lot of time it takes to keep everything up to date," Clint explains.

For the Reiss family, Harvest Profit is more than just software—it's their go-to tool for staying connected, confident, and financially clear across every crop and season. For more info, see harvestprofit.com. ‡
