1590 No-Till Grain Drill

Designed for the grower who seeds in a variety of conditions - from conventional to conservation tillage.

Choose a size to meet your need and head into no-till with confidence. Then shift to tilled fields without feeling you have a drill that's overweight or not adaptable.

The key to this versatility is: depth gauging at the opener similar to MaxEmerge 2™ Planters, residue flow capability, built-in weight for no-till applications, minimal soil disturbance from openers , and consistent penetration.

BOX CAPACITIES:

  • Plain grain drill is suited for the customer who desires to drill legumes, such as soybeans, that typically don't require fertilisation 124 L/305 mm (3.5 bu/ft. capacity).
  • Combination grain/fertiliser drill is suited for the customer who desires to drill cereals and grasses that require fertilisation 120 L/305 mm (3.4 bu/ft. capacity).
  • Seedboxes have large capacity for longer intervals between stops for refilling.
  • 100% grain or 60% grain and 40% fertiliser.
  • Sight glass located near the end of the box on combination grain fertiliser drills allows the operator to view seed level at a glance.
  • A bin level indicator is used on plain grain boxes. It is visible from tractor seat.

METRES

Features:

  • Meters are driven by the right rear wheel.
  • Seed - Fluted feed. Fluted feed cups accurately meter seed from seedbox to furrow openers.
  • Fertiliser - Traction feed. Traction feed wheel has an aggressive tread that pulls fertiliser to the openings.
  • Manual seed rate control. Seed rate is calibrated by using a simple mechanical shift lever.
  • Electronic population rate control. When used in conjunction with seed sensors and either a ComputerTrak® 250 monitor or a SeedStar™ monitor, the operator can monitor rates and adjust them on-the-go from the cab of the tractor.

DRIVES

Features:

  • Right wheel drive meters maintain ground contact for consistent meter drive. (3.0 m and 4.5 m models)
  • Meters are driven by the centre-mounted drive tyre and wheel.(6.1 m model)
  • Drive disconnect is standard equipment on 3.0 m and 4.5 m (10-ft. and 15-ft). drills.
  • Clutch engages meter drive when furrow openers are hydraulically lowered

OPENER

1590 No-Till Grain Drill

Features:

  • Furrow openers operate independently of each other.
  • Two ranks of flat, 457 mm(18-in). diameter blades with a 20-degree sharpened edge, single-disk openers are standard equipment.
  • Spring tension provides from 45 to 204 Kg (165 to 450 lb). of down pressure per opener to penetrate hard soils and heavy residue.
  • Openers are mounted on 7-degree angle to provide aggressive residue handling and furrow creation.
  • Depth can be controlled from 6.3 mm to 89 mm (1/4 to 3-1/2-in). in 6.3 mm (1/4-in). increments (13 total adjustments). Runs on sealed double row ball bearing.
  • One 1x25 cm rubber-tyre press wheel.
  • One 1x30 cm cast iron closing wheel with double row ball bearing in arm.
  • One piece cast seed boot. Spring loaded against inside of the disk blade to help hold it in position for accurate seed placement.
  • Seed deflector which directs seed into bottom of furrow for better seed-to-soil contact.

OPENER SPACING

Features:

  • Can be ordered on 19 cm or 25 cm (7-1/2-in. or 10-in). 4.5 Meter (15-ft. only) spacing. (Front rank opener lock-up can be ordered as an attachment to provide row spacings of 38 or 50 mm (15 or 20-in.).

  • Four 11L-15, 10 PR
  • Drive Tyre is 5.90 x 15, 4PR

HITCH AND WHEEL SUPPORT

Features:

  • Dual caster wheel hitch and 6-bolt rear hubs.
  • and four 11L-15, 10PR tyres.
  • (6,1m model also has two 11L-15, 10PR tyres)

TONGUE

Features:

  • Tongue for caster wheel hitch with convertible link.

  • Grain Agitator.
