Important information relating to Credit Reporting

This statement contains important information about credit reporting that is relevant to you if:

 

  • you are an individual making an application for finance, or who holds a finance product, provided by John Deere Financial Limited ABN 55 078 714 646 (referred to in this statement as “we”/“us”); or

 

  • we deal with you in connection with an application for finance by, or finance provided to, another person (for example, if you are a guarantor or proposed guarantor for that finance or if you are a director or a shareholder of a company obtaining finance).

 


We may disclose your personal information to a credit reporting body

We may disclose personal information about you in connection with your finance-related dealings with us to a credit reporting body.  The credit reporting body may, in turn, include this information in reports that they provide to other credit providers to assist them to assess your credit worthiness.

 

For example, if you fail to meet your payment obligations to us or commit a serious credit infringement in relation to finance provided by us, we may be entitled to disclose this information to a credit reporting body.

Excluding your credit reporting information from direct marketing pre-screening

Protecting your credit reporting information if you are the victim of fraud:

 

You also have the right to request that a credit reporting body not use or disclose credit reporting information it holds about you if you believe that you have been, or are likely to be, the victim of fraud (including, for example, identity-related fraud). You should contact the credit reporting body directly if you wish to request this.



Accessing or correcting your personal information or making a privacy complaint:

 

You have rights to request access to personal information that we hold about you, including credit-related information.  You also have rights to request correction of this information.  In addition, you have right to make a complaint if you consider that we have failed to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) in relation to this information.  Our Credit Reporting Policy sets out how you can make such requests or a complaint and how we will deal with them.
