James McCabe is Vice President, Taxes, Deere & Company, a position he has held since May 2017. McCabe is responsible for leading the company's worldwide tax function and works closely with Public Affairs on legislative matters.
McCabe joined Deere in 1995 and has held a number of positions of increasing leadership responsibility, primarily in the tax and treasury functions. In 2007, he became Vice President of Finance for Deere's water operations and was named Director of International Taxes for Regions 1 and 3 and U.S. Customs in 2009. Starting in May 2014, McCabe served as Assistant Treasurer, a role in which he led global funding activities for John Deere Financial and oversaw Treasury activities for Regions 1, 2, and 3.
Prior to joining Deere & Company, McCabe spent 10 years working in Chicago with companies such as Peat Marwick (KPMG's predecessor) and JMB Realty Corporation, working in the areas of accounting, tax, and investment management.
McCabe received a bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1985 and an MBA with an emphasis in finance from the University of Chicago in 1993.
