Here, we know the value of bringing together diverse ideas. We embrace a culture that is accepting and understanding. And we work to include individuals and companies that fit with that culture. It's a culture that reflects our global market, widens our business opportunities, attracts the best talent, and breathes life into the best teamwork.

Of course, saying it doesn't make it so. But John Deere lives it through leadership and example.

Anthony"I've been with John Deere for over 13 years, working in a variety of diverse roles and responsibilities, including Operations, Business Development, and Technology Innovation, to name a few. I'm an active recruiter, often interviewing prospective employees and representing Deere externally. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, United States demographics will continue to shift significantly in years to come, and Hispanic-Americans will play increasingly relevant roles in political, economic, social, and cultural milieus. I'm quite proud that John Deere intentionally aims to develop relationships with Hispanic-serving professional organizations, like Prospanica, to increasingly leverage the talents and capabilities of this progressively important cohort."

Diversity in everything we do ...

Employee Resource Groups

We all have something to say. Something to contribute. Ideas to help each other, our communities, our customers, and John Deere. That's why John Deere supports Employee Resource Groups (ERG). Located around the world, these groups bring together people with shared interests, addressing three key factors – business, career, and community.

Diverse Professional Organizations

At John Deere, we are committed to those linked to the land – those who are working to feed, clothe and shelter the world's dramatically increasing population.

Our diverse workforce designs easy-to-use products that help customers do their life's work more profitably and more productively. We maximize our hiring potential through numerous recruiting events, develop our current employees through extensive leadership and development opportunities, and retain talent through a variety of employee engagement opportunities.

In our ongoing efforts to attract, develop, and retain employees, we maintain business relationships with a number of diverse professional organizations.

Supporting education, especially minority opportunities in education, is a focus at John Deere.

For example, we contribute to the Science, Engineering, Communication, Mathematics, and Enrichment (SECME). Developed for K-12 students, this national program encourages young people who are interested in science. We also support minority education and diversity initiatives at a number of colleges and universities.

So our support is broad. We help bring high-quality students to the program. We help teachers develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that support inquiry-based learning. We help show how parents can inspire their students. And we help create strong business networks that can assist STEM programs. Our support is monetary as well as our time and expertise. John Deere Inspire is a global initiative at John Deere designed to inspire the next generations of innovators today.

Suppliers and dealers

Supplier Diversity

Diversity at John Deere is not just about our employees. We work to maintain a supplier base that reflects the diversity of our markets worldwide. Since 1980, the John Deere Supplier Diversity program has established and nurtured relationships with diverse suppliers. Why is this important? A diverse group of suppliers brings a broader perspective to our business. A broader range of ideas and innovations, too. All this leads to better business for us … and our suppliers.

Dealer Diversity

John Deere dealers are independently owned businesses. Yet, they are John Deere's face to our customers. They must understand and respond to their local customers needs. This is why we take great strides in recruiting high-caliber individuals with diverse backgrounds to take on the John Deere brand. In fact, in the United States, John Deere dealerships are owned and operated by people of African-American, American Indian, Asian, and Hispanic decent. A significant number of dealerships are owned by women.
