We support higher living standards and a sustainable environment for people everywhere through our commitment to those linked to the land.
Throughout our history, John Deere has helped our customers meet the challenge of feeding the world through advanced products and services. As global population and demand for food continues to grow, we are focused on improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers by increasing their agricultural production and use of mechanization, thus helping create distinctive and sustainable solutions for world hunger. Specifically, we support projects in the areas of farmer training, value-chain enhancement, and microfinance services through such partners as TechnoServe, PYXERA Global, and Mercy Corps.
As one of our core values, innovation is critical to John Deere's success. But for innovation to thrive, there must be dynamic educational opportunities to teach and inspire our next generation of innovators. Therefore, we invest in projects that offer stimulating, rewarding, and pioneering educational experiences for youth, particularly in our home communities.
In particular, we want to inspire youth to reach their greater potential by improving secondary school graduation rates among at-risk young people in our home communities. We also aspire to increase the number of youth in our home communities who earn engineering, IT, and manufacturing certifications and degrees.
Some examples of our partners include iJAG, FIRST, Project Lead The Way, Junior Achievement, and FFA.
With facilities throughout the world, we understand the important economic impact John Deere makes in our many home communities. Operating a successful business not only supports our employees and others, but creates rich and diverse opportunities for creating economically strong, vibrant, and resilient home communities.
Key partners we support in this area include local United Ways and the organizations they support, Global Communities, food banks, and the American Red Cross.

With more than 9.7 billion people inhabiting the globe by 2050, who will feed, clothe, and shelter them? Through John Deere Inspire, we're engaging the next generation of innovators through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education.
Through hands-on programs like FIRST® LEGO League, Project Lead The Way, and Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day, we help students ages 6 to 18 hone their collaboration, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, so they can one day provide solutions to improve the quality of life everywhere.
