• The Dubuque Works, which opened in 1947, manufactures crawler bulldozers, crawler loaders, backhoe loaders, tracked harvesters, tracked feller bunchers, knuckleboom loaders and skid steer loaders.
• The Davenport Works began production in 1974 and today manufactures articulated dump trucks, four-wheel-drive loaders, motor graders, felling heads, wheeled feller bunchers, log skidders and cabs.
• John Deere Forestry Oy, Joensuu, Finland - manufactures log forwarders, wheeled harvesters, energy wood bundlers and harvesting heads.
• Some John Deere hydraulic excavators are produced by Deere-Hitachi Construction Machinery in Kernersville, N.C. Formed in 1988, Deere-Hitachi is a joint-venture company that manufactures excavators for John Deere and Hitachi.
• In 1998, the joint venture formed Deere-Hitachi Specialty Products. Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, it began shipping crawler-based forestry machines – delimbers, processors, log loaders and road builders in 1999.
• John Deere Tianjin Works, a new transmission factory in Tianjin, China, opens in 2006.
• In 2008, Deere & Company enters into joint ventures with construction equipment manufacturers in China and India. John Deere announces plans to build a distribution, replacement parts, and training center in Russia, a European Technology & Innovation Center in Germany, and a marketing office in Kiev, Ukraine.
• A joint venture in India is formed with Ashok Leyland Limited in 2009 to manufacture backhoes and four-wheel-drive loaders.
• John Deere opens a technology and innovation center in Germany in 2010 and expands a research and development center in China. Also during this year, a joint-venture is opened to produce backhoes and wheel-loaders for Asian markets.
• In 2011, the company begins work on plants to produce engines, loaders, and ag equipment in China and tractor and combine factories in India. In addition, two factories are planned for Brazil - one for backhoes and wheel loaders, and a joint venture for excavators. John Deere Domodedovo, Russia, begins building forestry skidders and forwarders, and other facilities are expanded in India, Brazil, Argentina, Russia, and the U.S.
• John Deere initiates the construction of two factories in Indaiatauba, São Paulo, Brazil during 2012. One factory manufactures four-wheel-drive backhoe loaders while the other is part of John Deere's joint partnership with Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. and is responsible for the manufacture of excavators.
