Project "CAN DO" is in the Guinness Book of World Records.
On January 9th, John Deere's Project "CAN DO" broke the Guinness Book World Record for the largest can-food sculpture. The can combine measured 60 feet wide, 80 feet long and 16 feet tall and weighed approximately 170 tons. More than 450 volunteers spent 1800 hours and used over 308,448 cans to break the record and build the sculpture of John Deere's new S-Series Combine harvesting corn.
The sculpture recognized the vital role American farmers play in feeding the world and showcased how new equipment and technologies are helping them meet the growing demand for food. Bob Herring, a John Deere customer and S670 owner, placed the last can on the combine.
Better still, on December 12th more volunteers came to the John Deere Pavilion to help deconstruct the combine and deliver all 300,000-plus cans to the River Bend FoodBank in Moline. With this donation, more than 150 families will be helped in the coming year. To learn more about Project "CAN DO" and the World Record visit Facebook.com/JohnDeere or read the press release.
