John Deere Pavilion is 'Hatching' a Good Time April 14-21

Monthly Kid's Craft Day expanded to feature a week of hatching ducklings

MOLINE, Illinois (April 14, 2014) – Officials at the John Deere Pavilion, Deere & Company's visitor center in downtown Moline, Ill., are taking the term "nesting" to a whole new level as they get ready to hatch dozens of ducklings as part of the April Kid's Craft Day.

Starting today, visitors to the Pavilion can see ducks hatching, sprouting their feathers and having fun in their pond and playground. Those not able to visit can catch all the hatching action on our live web cam at www.JohnDeerePavilion.com/DuckHatching.

"Historically, this has been one of our best attended Kid's Craft events," said Kristen Veto, assistant manager of the John Deere Pavilion. "Not only are they incredibly cute to see, but it is a fantastic educational opportunity for children to watch the process as it happens. It's not something you get to see everyday!"

The hatching ducklings will be onsite from April 14 through April 21 and children can also make their own duck hat as the featured monthly Kid's Craft. As always, attendance and participation is free. The Pavilion will be closed for Easter on Sunday, April 20.

The John Deere Pavilion offers free admission, is open to the public year-round, and welcomes group tours. The John Deere Store, located adjacent to the Pavilion, stocks a large and unique selection of the latest officially-licensed John Deere products including clothing, toys, books, and collectibles. The Pavilion hosts free Kid's Craft Days on the third Saturday of each month featuring a different theme generally tied to the season.
