Laurie S. Simpson is Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer at Deere & Company, a position she has held since January 2013. Simpson leads the company's Center for Global Business Conduct and is responsible for coordinating and sharing best practices to improve compliance efforts in all aspects of Deere's processes, policies and practices.
Simpson began working at Deere & Company as a college intern in 1975, and joined the company fulltime after graduation. Since then, Simpson has held positions in accounting, wholesale finance, pricing and human resources. In 2007, after serving as President, John Deere Limited, Canada, Simpson was named Director, Global Team Enrichment. In 2010 she was appointed Director, Human Resources, Global Deployment and Team Enrichment.
A native of Lethbridge, Alberta, Simpson received her bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Western Ontario and a degree in computer technology from Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario.
Simpson was previously a member of the board of governors for Niagara College and the board of directors for Junior Achievement in Ontario. She has also served as a diversity advisor for Davenport One, a local business development organization, and is currently a member of the Deere Employees Credit Union Board of Directors.
