James E. Temperley

James Temperley is Vice President and Comptroller, Deere & Company, a position he has held since September 2012. He is responsible for Deere's worldwide accounting functions.
Temperley began his career at John Deere in 1976 as a summer student. He has held positions of increasing responsibility in the accounting and finance area including controller for factories in Augusta, Georgia; Torreon, Mexico; and East Moline, Illinois, before becoming the director of finance for John Deere Power Systems. He was named Director, Accounting and Finance, Agricultural Division - Europe, Africa, South America and Global Harvesting Sourcing in 2001. He was appointed Director, Accounting and Finance, Agricultural Division – North America, Australia, Asia, and Global Tractor and Implement Sourcing in 2007. He was appointed Director, Finance – Tractor, Turf & Utility/Regions 1 and 4 in May 2009.
Temperley earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Augustana College.
