Ganesh Jayaram is Vice President, A&T Sales and Marketing, China/India/South and East Asia/Sub-Saharan and South Africa, a position he's held since April 2012. He is responsible for sales and marketing functions in Deere's Region 1 locations, the Dealer of Tomorrow strategy, sales planning and execution, and tactical marketing functions. He is also responsible for oversight of the company's operations in China and India.
Jayaram joined the company in 2006 as Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Business Development. In this role, he helped guide the development of the John Deere Strategy, which was communicated in 2010 and set the strategic direction of the company for 2010 to 2018. Before his present assignment, Jayaram was Product Line Director for the cotton business of the Crop Harvesting platform.
Prior to joining the company, Jayaram was Vice President of Business Development for the Water Quality Group at Danaher Corporation in Loveland, Colorado. From 2001 to 2003, he was Director of Corporate Business Development for Canon, U.S.A. in San Jose, California. From 1995 to 2001, Jayaram worked for The Boston Consulting Group in Chicago and Mumbai.
Jayaram received a bachelor's of technology in ceramic engineering from the Institute of Technology at Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi, India, in 1990. He received a doctorate in materials science and engineering from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, in 1995.
