Bret Thomas is the Executive Vice President of Global Operations, Worldwide Financial Services Division at Deere & Company, a position he has held since September 2013.
Thomas is responsible for the Financial Services division global operations, including the direction of business development, marketing, sales, credit, and operations.
He began his career in commercial finance at Bankers Trust Corporation in 1982. Living and conducting business in several international markets, Thomas has helped companies globalize their work with channel partners. With nearly 30 years of distinguished experience in the financial services industry, he has held numerous executive leadership positions, leading global organizations like AT&T Capital, Pitney Bowes Global Credit Services, CIT Group, and Xerox Financial Services.
A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Thomas holds an undergraduate degree in political science from the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and is a graduate of the Bankers Trust Company Business Management School in New York City.
Thomas is a member of several lease advisory boards and councils and serves on the ELFA Global Captive Lessor Council, based in Washington, D.C. He was a co-founder of the Captive Forum in Europe, which operates as an Association of Captive Leasing Companies. Currently, he is a Board Governor of The Leasing Foundation in Europe, a member of the Industry Future Council in the U.S., and a member of the Financial Services Roundtable in the U.S.
