Thomas C. Spitzfaden is Vice President, Pension Fund and Investments, a position he has held since January 2012. He is responsible for directing the investment affairs of Deere's core defined-benefit plans, as well as oversight of Deere's pension and savings plans worldwide.
Spitzfaden joined Deere in 1979 and held a number of positions of increasing responsibility in Corporate and the Agricultural Equipment and Construction Equipment Divisions. In 2004, he was named Director, Business Development for the Worldwide Agricultural Equipment Division. In 2006, he was appointed Assistant Treasurer, Deere & Company.
Spitzfaden has a bachelor's degree in history from Rice University and an MBA in finance from the University of Chicago. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Spitzfaden has previously served the community in a number of youth-oriented volunteer positions, most recently as a member of the Moline Public Schools Foundation.
