David F. Thorne is President, John Deere Water, a position he's held since February 2012. He is responsible for managing Deere's global water business, John Deere Water, part of the company's agriculture and turf business.
Thorne joined Deere & Company as a product specialist in 1997. He has had positions of increasing responsibility such as territory manager, parts marketing manager, and region sales manager. In 2003, he was appointed Group Product Marketing Manager, John Deere Utility Vehicles, and, in 2006, Director, Sales and Marketing for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, based in Mannheim, Germany. In 2009, Thorne was appointed Sales Branch Manager for the agriculture and turf business. In 2011, he was appointed Director, Corporate Strategy.
Thorne has a bachelor's degree marketing from Bradley University and a MBA from Clemson University. He completed the Global 2020 Executive Leadership Development Program at Dartmouth College in 2010.
