Certified Engines
The presence of an emissions label like the one shown above signifies that the engine has been certified with the EPA and/or CARB. The presence of an EU number signifies that the engine has been certified with the European Union countries per Directive 97/68/EC.
Non-Certified Engines
The presence of an emissions label like the one shown above signifies that the engine has not been certified with the EU, EPA, and/or CARB.
