John Deere Power Systems Displays New Marine Engines at Miami Boat Show

PowerTech™ 6.8L and 12.5L Diesel Engines Feature Increased Power Ratings

PowerTech 6.8L Marine Diesel Engine WATERLOO, IA (January 22, 2008) — John Deere Power Systems (JDPS) will exhibit its two new marine engines — the 6068SFM75 and the 6125SFM75 — at the Miami International Boat Show on Feb. 14 – 18. JDPS will also display its 4045TFM75 and the 6081AFM75 engines. All of these engines meet EPA Tier 2 and EU emissions requirements and are MARPOL Annex VI compliant.

Product highlights:
  • The new PowerTech 6125SFM75 has 12.5L of displacement and offers up to 455 kW (610 hp). It is the most powerful engine manufactured by John Deere. The 6125SFM75 consumes a very competitive 118.5 liters of fuel per hour (31.3 gallons) at full-load rated speed. It is a six-cylinder, turbocharged and air-to-seawater aftercooled marine engine.
  • The PowerTech 6081AFM75 has 8.1L of displacement and offers up to 280 kW (375 hp). The 6081AFM75 is a six-cylinder, turbocharged and air-to-engine coolant aftercooled marine engine.
  • The PowerTech 6068SFM75 has 6.8L of displacement and offers up to 298 kW (400 hp). It is the newest marine engine offered by John Deere. It consumes 77.6 liters of fuel per hour (20.5 gallons) at full-load rated speed. The 6068SFM75 is a six-cylinder, turbocharged and air-to-seawater aftercooled marine engine.
  • The PowerTech 4045TFM75 has 4.5L of displacement and offers 101 kW (135 hp). The 4045TFM75 is a four-cylinder, turbocharged marine engine.

All of these engines are excellent choices for cruisers, trawler yachts, houseboats and other recreational applications. Every John Deere marine engine meets emissions requirements, and they range in power from 56 to 455 kW (80 hp to 610 hp).
