John Deere Power Systems Displays Newest Marine Engines at Fish Expo Atlantic

PowerTech™ 6.8L and 12.5L Diesel Engines Feature Increased Power Ratings

WATERLOO, Iowa (March 26, 2008) — John Deere Power Systems (JDPS) will exhibit its two new marine engines — the 6068SFM75 and the 6125SFM75 — at the Fish Expo Atlantic show April 9 and 10. These engines feature increased power ratings, are MARPOL Annex VI compliant and meet EPA Tier 2, IWT (2004/26/EC) and RDC (2003/44/EC) emissions regulations.

Product highlights:

  • The PowerTech 6125SFM75 has 12.5L of displacement and provides 455 kW (610 hp) at 2100 rpm. It is the most powerful engine manufactured by John Deere. The 6125SFM75 consumes a very competitive 118.5 liters of fuel per hour (31.3 gallons) at full-load rated speed. It is a six-cylinder, electronically controlled, turbocharged and air-to-sea water aftercooled marine engine.
  • The PowerTech 6068SFM75 has 6.8L of displacement and provides 298 kW (400 hp) at 2800 rpm. It is the newest marine engine offered by John Deere. It consumes 77.6 liters of fuel per hour (20.5 gallons) at full-load rated speed. The 6068SFM75 is a six-cylinder, electronically controlled, turbocharged and air-to-sea water aftercooled marine engine.

All of these engines are excellent choices for cruisers, trawler yachts, houseboats and other recreational applications. Every John Deere marine engine meets emissions requirements, and they range in power from 56 to 455 kW (80 hp to 610 hp).
