John Deere Renewables, LLC:

More than five years ago, John Deere began a comprehensive examination of how we can use our extensive capabilities to help rural communities, landowners and agricultural interests benefit from the worldwide focus on the environment and renewable energy. Bio-fuels, water and wind energy are among the topics which we think warrant additional efforts. Business development activities are underway in each of these areas.

John Deere Renewables, LLC is an energy and financial services business of Deere & Company (NYSE: DE). Deere & Company is a Fortune 100 company, has approximately 50,000 employees worldwide and more than 170 years in the agricultural market.

John Deere has a number of initiatives in place throughout the global organization to address stewardship and environmental responsibilities. As a member of US Climate Action Partnership, John Deere believes that climate change is an important global business issue, and that we must proactively participate in finding effective and practical solutions that also consider John Deere's business interests and those of our customers.

In addition to John Deere's membership in USCAP, the company also participates in voluntary programs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, such as the US EPA's Climate Leaders and Business Roundtables Climate RESOLVE program.

Through John Deere Wind Energy, John Deere Renewables invests in, and provides value-added services for wind project development. These services include comprehensive project development services, wind turbine supply and operation management and long term debt and equity investment for wind energy projects in the U.S. and Canada.
