JOHN DEERE INTRODUCES 2007 GOLF AND TURF EQUIPMENT

Updated Machines Anticipate Supers' Needs

ANAHEIM, CA (February 22, 2007) — For the 2007 season, John Deere Golf & Turf One Source™ announces the addition of five mowing and maintenance products to its well-established full line of golf course equipment.

"The 2007 John Deere Golf & Turf equipment lines are designed to provide increased efficiency and improved comfort to turf professionals to not just meet their needs, but go beyond their expectations," said Gregg Breningmeyer, director, sales and marketing, John Deere Golf & Turf One Source.

Equipment improvements for 2007 fulfill three main needs: introduce technological advantages that offer better control and more perfect performance, provide easier and more efficient maintenance, and meet current and pending government and practical standards.

"Anticipating the needs of hardworking turf professionals is something John Deere has been succeeding at for decades," said Breningmeyer. "Now we're introducing the next wave of our golf and turf equipment – these products give more power to the operator and provide efficiencies in both usage and maintenance."

The 2653B Trim & Surrounds Mower boasts improved traction, operator comfort and serviceability. The new traction system provides flow equally to each wheel motor, reducing slippage and improving hill climbing, while still maintaining the well-known quality of cut. The redesigned operator station provides easier access to operator controls, better access on and off the machine, and four additional inches of leg room, providing improved operator comfort.

The one-piece hood design, with full access to the engine when open, offers convenient access for daily maintenance and makes on-board diagnosis easy with the patented John Deere WhiteBox™ controller and SOS (sit-on-seat) diagnostics. The 2653B comes standard with a two-post SAE j21294 Roll Over Protection Structure that meets pending ISO 21299 standards.

The 2500B Hybrid Riding Greens Mower comes equipped with either a liquid-cooled gas engine that meets 2008 CARB and EPA emissions standards, or a liquid-cooled diesel engine that meets EPA Tier 2, Interim Tier 4 and Tier 4 standards. The mower features 22-inch cutting units that come with eleven blade reels, 3-mm standard bedknives, and a smooth or grooved front roller. The patented offset cutting units’ design reduces compaction during mowing of the clean-up cut and feature a bedknife-to-reel design, making the cutting units easily adjustable. The patented White Box™ controller provides on board diagnostics as standard equipment and allows the technician to easily diagnose the electrical system. The 2500B comes standard with two-post SAE J21294 Roll Over Protection Structure with seat belts that meet pending ISO 21299 standards.

The 2500E Hybrid Riding Greens Mower – the first of its kind in the industry – is already a modern solution for course care, with electric reel motors that boast 102 fewer potential hydraulic leak points, reduced sound levels and increased fuel efficiency. The 2500E can be equipped with a liquid-cooled gas engine that meets 2008 CARB and EPA emissions standards or a liquid-cooled diesel engine that meets EPA, Tier 2, Interim Tier 4, and Tier 4 standards. Maintenance will run more smoothly and efficiently with updated body styling for easy access and the standard patented John Deere White Box™ controller, which provides easy on-board electric diagnostics. The 2500E comes standard with two-post SAE J21294 Roll Over Protection Structure with seat belts that meet pending ISO 21299 standards.

Still the lightest walk-behind greens mowers made today, the C-Series Walk Greens Mower line features true 18-inch, 22-inch and 26-inch cutting widths on the 180C, 220C and 260C, respectively. A dual-traction drive boasts an improved rear drum and drive system that provide even straighter tracking on greens. Bedknife-to-reel adjustment knobs make for easier infinite precision adjustments, and all models come equipped with a standard operator-presence system that meets ANSI B71.4-2004 requirements.

The 180C, 220C and 260C also feature an optional gear driven Greens Tender™ Conditioner that counter rotates to stand up the grass prior to cutting and promotes vertical grass growth for excellent ball roll. All models also feature a gas engine that meets 2007 CARB standards.

The ProGatorTM 2020A gas and 2030A diesel Heavy-Duty Utility Vehicles are now available. Providing unparalleled flexibility to accomplish any task at hand, the five-speed synchromesh transmission allows operators to not only change gears on the go, but also start the vehicle in any gear. The A Series ProGators feature a manual engage 4WD system, giving operators full control of additional traction when they need it but conserve energy when they don’t. A new auxiliary hydraulic pump configuration provides even more power for hydraulically driven attachments and increased durability. Zero grease points on 2WD machines, and only three grease points on 4WD machines, allows technicians to conserve more time and energy when handling maintenance needs.
