DEERE EXTENDS HEALTH CARE ENROLLMENT PERIOD FOR FLEX RETIREES

MOLINE, Illinois (November 07, 2007) — Deere & Company announced today an extension of the enrollment period for flex retirees covered under a new health care benefits program to help ensure that participants have additional time to make a decision that works best for their individual circumstances. Deere also will inform the eligible retirees of the extension in a letter.

"Some retirees have said the changes seem complex since they are not used to being actively involved in assessing and making a decision on health care options," said Mert Hornbuckle, Vice President, Human Resources, Deere & Company. "We believe this extended time frame will help everyone become more comfortable in making a choice and getting enrolled."

In September, Deere announced changes that affect those who retired after July 1, 1993. For retirees eligible for Medicare, today's announcement extends the enrollment period for participation in the Deere program to December 14. For those who are not Medicare-eligible, the enrollment period has been extended to November 21. In both instances, the enrollment periods have been extended approximately two weeks.

Deere's new health care program for retirees was made possible by federal legislation that created tax-advantaged Health Savings Accounts and by the adoption of the Medicare Modernization Act of 2003. Deere has said the company continues to provide strong financial support while actively engaging participants in health care decisions.

Deere has held meetings, provided mailings, provided telephone assistance and offers information on a Web site to help retirees make a decision on their best option. The Web site is located at http://www.deere.com/healthydirections/retireehealthcare/
