NEW TRI-LOBE STEEL CONDITIONING ROLLS FOR JOHN DEERE WINDROWER PLATFORMS

LENEXA, KS (January 10, 2006) — Adding to the productivity and conditioning durability of 994 and 995 Platforms for 4995 Self-Propelled Windrowers, John Deere introduces Tri-Lobe steel conditioning rolls as a factory installed option.

The new Tri-Lobe Steel Conditioning Rolls from John Deere are more durable and aggressive in conditioning alfalfa and other crops for better dry-down.

The new Tri-Lobe Steel Conditioning Rolls from John Deere are more durable and aggressive in conditioning alfalfa and other crops for better dry-down.
"The new Tri-Lobe steel conditioning rolls have three intermeshing chevron lobes that condition the length of the crop stem for better dry-down." says Doug Stogdill, senior marketing representative, John Deere Ottumwa Works. "Compared to competitive rolls made from rubber or urethane, the new steel rolls are more durable and the aggressive intermeshing lobes give positive feeding and improved crop flow; plus they perform exceptionally well in abrasive crops and soil conditions."

The Tri-Lobe steel rolls are especially suited for use in alfalfa and help reduce curing time because of the full-stem conditioning. The end result of faster curing time is less bleaching of the crop and better hay quality.

Tri-Lobe steel rolls also have replaceable end caps for easy serviceability. The shafts are forged and machined for great accuracy. This enables the rolls to be set to a minimum roll gap, perfectly square for the entire length of the rolls. The roll ends can also be easily replaced if the shaft becomes damaged.

"These aggressive rolls also work very well in heavy, thick-stemmed crops to break up large nodes for a faster curing time," explains Stogdill. "Customers will really appreciate the increased capacity, durability, and performance from the Tri-Lobe steel rolls."
