The Jeanne II is one of three crew boats that shuttle workers to and from the construction site of the new Tappan Zee Bridge in New York. The five-year project to replace the Tappan Zee Bridge is so colossal it already ranks as one of the largest public works projects in North America. To meet New York City's strict air and noise emissions regulations, all three crew boats were repowered with twin PowerTech 6.8L Tier 3 marine engines.

A power upgrade keeps SNSM’s unsinkable La Teignouse coming to the rescue along the Breton Coast

The distress call comes in: An amateur yachtsman has gotten into an emergency situation in the choppy waters of the Baie de Quiberon and needs urgent assistance. Lives are at stake; there is no time to lose. The on-duty lifeguards rush to the dock, where the V1 multipurpose craft SNS 142 La Teignouse awaits. After its recent power upgrade in 2012, this Société Nationale de Sauvetage en Mer (SNSM) lifeboat is once again on the watch, ready to handle any rescue situation.
