1400 & 1500 Series II Front Mowers
Durable
The inspired record of space frames (in everything from high-performance autos to airplanes) is the foundation for the 1400 and 1500 Series II. By spreading stress over a much larger area - instead of concentrating it into a single girder - this advanced self-reinforcing design dramatically increases overall strength. Besides this remarkable frame, components like a transaxle lifted straight from a compact tractor, wet-disk brakes and reinforced resin hood are some of the reasons we can offer an amazing two-year, full-service, limited warranty. Expect nothing less from a company that's driven to build the best.

Space Frame

Space Frame
A foundation for the future.
Inside every 1400 and 1500 Series II Mower is a revolutionary, high-strength steel, self-reinforcing frame. One that surpasses the already high standard set by our previous generation front-mower frames. The rollover protection system is welded right on to the structure, and components are bolted on and located low for a center of gravity that's close to the ground. The result: An extraordinarily long service life. Excellent stability. And superior ability to withstand stress.

Compared to our previous front mower designs, these self-reinforcing frames:

  • Overall are 38 percent stronger.
  • Are tested to withstand 130 percent more side stress.
  • Have frame rails that are 7.8 inches deeper over the critical front axle.

Quality Control

Quality Control
Every piece is a masterpiece.
Your equipment is precisely crafted and will last a long time. It already has, after all, in thousands of hours of testing in the toughest real-life environments. But the environment that most ensures quality is our factory. At John Deere Turf Care, production team members know their jobs - and the one before and after their stations. They know how the machine should be coming, and how it should be leaving. All to meet your high standards.

Heavy-Duty Components

Heavy-Duty Components
Heavy metal.
From a fully integrated rollover protection system to massive hanger arms, every part is as tough as the frame. In addition to proven Yanmar engines and mechanical four-wheel drive, the 1400 and 1500 Series II have other rugged components such as a transaxle lifted straight from a tractor; internal wet-disk brakes; and an integrated, shaft-driven PTO. And of course 7-gauge steel decks.
  • Self-reinforcing space frame.
  • Tractor-based transaxle.
  • Reinforced resin hood.
  • Shaft-driven PTO.
  • Internal wet-disk brakes.

Warranty

Warranty
Even the fine print makes a big statement.
For 165 years, John Deere has stood behind its products like no other company. No wonder every piece of equipment is protected by a full-service, two-year, limited North American warranty.* There’s no need to go to component suppliers for warranty issues, your local John Deere dealer takes care of every claim, from transmissions to engines and everything in between.

Service after the sale shows in dealers who look beyond the mechanics of a problem to ensure all concerns are satisfied. (And who can call on an entire department of service experts, the Dealer Technical Assistance Center.)

*See dealer for details. Does not include transportation.

Serviceability

Serviceability
Why all systems are always go.

  • Seat flips forward for access to battery, fuse bank and front of engine.
  • Hinged panel on foot platform flips forward for access to the transmission, transaxle and most linkages.
