For a machine that's meant to be run hard, all day long, the 1600 Turbo is remarkably soft on its operator. A truly impressive engineering feat.
The 1600 Turbo's transmission was designed to work with the natural motion of the operator's foot. Patented Twin Touch pedals require little effort and allow instant speed and direction changes. This same care was put into the oversize brake pedal that's easy to hit if necessary, and turn brakes that are on the opposite side of the transmission pedals, so both can be used at the same time. Why did we spend the extra time here? It's details like this that differentiate good from great.

The most important moving part is you.
We design machines around the operator, not the other way around. That's why there’s a deluxe, high-back air-suspension seat with armrests that adjust for operator weight, lumbar support and back angle. Why the entire steering column tilts just to where you want it. Why there's an incredible amount of leg and elbow room. And why, for peace of mind, there's an operator presence system and Roll-Gard™ Roll Over Protective System.
- Raised seat offers excellent visibility to the front and sides.
- Safety start interlock system (transmission must be in neutral, PTO disengaged and the operator must be in the seat or park brake engaged to start the machine).
- Interlock will automatically shut the engine and PTO off if the operator leaves the seat.

Controls that are easy to grasp.
The 1600 Turbo is remarkably simple to master, even for novice operators. Low-effort controls are conveniently grouped on a right-hand console. PTO engagement and mower deck lift and lowering are all activated by electronic controls. And 4WD, high- and low-speed range levers and throttle are right at hand.
