  • Tour experience lasts 1.5 hours and is riding-only.
  • Tours start promptly at the respective tour times.
  • All guests must be 13 years of age or older. Proof of age may required (ex: drivers license, birth certificate).
  • Minors (ages 13-17) must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Wear long pants and closed-toe and closed-heel shoes; no sandals or open-toed shoes allowed.
  • The use of cell phones for photography, videography of any kind is not permitted in the factory.
  • Please leave your cell phones in your vehicle. If you choose to bring them in, they will be secured in the lobby for the duration of your tour.
  • Personal cameras and video cameras are not allowed.
  • We will provide safety glasses onsite, if you do not have your own.

John Deere Des Moines Works currently offers public riding tours, gold key tours, and specialty market tours.

  • Public tours are hosted on Wednesdays from May through the end of October at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Public tours require pre-registration; registration is based on availability. Email NXVisitorServices@JohnDeere.com or call 515-289-3081 to check public tour availability, gather details on current tour policies, and request a factory tour.
  • Gold key and specialty market tours must be arranged through your local John Deere dealer or representative.

  • Minors (13-17) must be accompanied by an adult.

John Deere Dubuque Works

Factory tour reservations must be made a minimum of 48 hours in advance. Factory tours are booked on a first-come, first-served basis. They fill up quickly, so plan your trip today.

Due to changes in factory production schedules, tours are subject to cancellation. John Deere will attempt to notify those with tour reservations if a schedule change occurs. The company is not liable for costs incurred when a tour is cancelled.

Per the John Deere Global Workplace Violence Prevention and Intervention Policy:

Weapons Prohibited
The company prohibits the possession of deadly or dangerous weapons of any kind inside company facilities. Employees are not permitted to possess weapons while engaged in activities for the company, at company-sponsored events, or in company-provided vehicles while on company business. Law enforcement personnel, and persons pre-approved by the Deere & Company Chief Security Officer, are permitted to carry weapons inside company facilities when performing their duties and consistent with applicable law. The company reserves the right to remove any employee or other individual who possesses a weapon in a company facility in violation of this policy. 
 
Deadly or dangerous weapons include: 
− Guns 
− Knives, other than standard pocket multi-tools 
− Explosives 
− Any item used with the potential to inflict harm and that has no legitimate business purpose
