John Deere is one of the Midwest's largest publishers. Much of this output supports Deere's many enterprises, including agricultural, industrial, and lawn and grounds care equipment. But an integral part of the publishing effort is John Deere Publishing (JDP). For nearly three decades, JDP has published educational material for high school and college students, farmers, "do-it-yourselfers," repair technicians, and agribusiness professionals. Our manuals have been used, and taught from, throughout the English-speaking world.
Quite a few companies also buy our publications to conduct their in-house service training. What allows these companies to use our books on their non-Deere equipment is the generic quality of our books. The manuals are not John Deere-specific; they guide the user through diagnostic, repair, or maintenance procedures regardless of the manufacturer. No individual brands or models are ever mentioned.
These materials are regularly updated or replaced to reflect new technologies, current diagnostic/repair procedures, and modern farming practices. The manuals are comprehensive because our customers demand thorough coverage. Yet, at the same time, all of our manuals have in common a designed simplicity: many illustrations and simple language are used to help break down complex theories into simple ideas, so they can be easily understood. Afterward, practical solutions are presented in a logical, straightforward fashion.
JDP currently offers different texts that cover both large- and small-equipment service and repair, agricultural machine operation and adjustment, and agribusiness practices. Supplementary curricula created for vocational-technology and vocational-agriculture educators include instructor and student guides. These instructional materials are written and reviewed by experienced teachers to facilitate your teaching experience.
