Integrity at John Deere Today

Integrity means telling the truth, keeping our word and treating others with fairness and respect. It is demonstrated through honest relationships, effective decisions that consider the balanced interests of all those who have a stake in our success, and unquestioned commitment to ethical and legal behavior.

Integrity at John Deere
The company's leaders, like CEO Robert W. Lane, have set an example of integrity and hands-on leadership.
The company's reputation for integrity has been recognized publicly. In 2002 John Deere was named the most trustworthy company in the state of Illinois.

"We have a wonderful heritage," CEO Robert W. Lane said of the honor. "We are fortunate to have customers who want to buy our products generation after generation, and we have a deep belief in delivering value to our customers."

More recently, the company's heritage of doing the right thing was demonstrated in its swift response to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., on September 11, 2001. Immediately following the attacks, John Deere employees in Virginia, New Jersey and Welland, Ontario worked tirelessly to speed Gator™ utility vehicles to rescue and recovery teams at the disaster sites. In 2005, the U.S. Department of Transportation awarded John Deere a 9/11 Ribbon, acknowledging the company's responsiveness.

The company constantly evaluates promising opportunities. It will pursue only those that fit its culture of integrity and trustworthiness, for the long-term benefit of the company and all those who have a stake in its success.
