The "New Generation of Power" Begins
When William Hewitt took over the reins of the company in 1955, the spirit of innovation continued. Hewitt's "New Generation of Power" featured agricultural products that offered farmers more power and higher productivity. Under Hewitt's leadership, the company entered the consumer products market in 1963, offering lawn and garden tractors, mowers and snow blowers. Innovations for the company from 1955 until Hewitt retired in 1982 included
