Motores John Deere Earns Safety Certification

(May 15, 2007) – Motores John Deere has earned certification in safety from the Mexico Ministry of Labor (STPS).

The certification is based on an assessment of unit management's commitment to safety, compliance with Mexican Federal Codes, and performance improvements between a first assessment and a final audit.

Motores John Deere, in Torreon, Mexico, makes engines, axles and transaxles. The Ministry of Labor conducted its final audit of the facility May 12.

"This project started several years ago and became reality after many hours and the efforts of Human Resources, Medical Services, Plant and Process Engineering," said Carlos Yomontano, W.S., Senior Engineer, Safety, Environmental and Ergonomics, at Motores John Deere. He said Motores John Deere was the first company in the area to be certified.
