Executive Biography

David P. Werning David P. Werning
President
John Deere Landscapes


David P. Werning is President, John Deere Landscapes. He is responsible for managing the operations of nearly 600 branch locations across the United States that offer irrigation equipment, nursery supplies and agronomic products to professional landscape contractors. He is also responsible for John Deere Golf equipment sales and marketing.

After joining the company in 1976 as an auditor, Werning held positions of increasing responsibility within the Worldwide Construction Equipment Division, including Controller, Industrial Sales Region, Brussels, Belgium. He also was Manager, Overseas Operations; Manager, Overseas Finance and Commercial Operations; Division Sales Manager; Director of International Operations; and Director of Commercial Operations. He was appointed Director of Business Development for the Worldwide Commercial & Consumer Equipment Division in April 2000. Werning was appointed President, John Deere Landscapes in January 2001 and also named Senior Vice President, Commecial Segment, Worldwide Commercial & Consumer Equipment Division in December 2006.

Werning graduated from Luther College, Decorah, Iowa, with a bachelor's degree in economics and accountancy. He received a CPA in 1978.

He is a past board member of the American Nursery & Landscape Association, and the Irrigation Association.
