Mark von Pentz is President, Agriculture and Turf Division - Europe, CIS, Northern Africa, Middle East, Latin America and Global Harvesting, Crop Care, Hay & Forage Products, for Deere & Company. He has held the position since May 2009. von Pentz is responsible for the customer-focused sales and marketing regions of Europe, the Latin American Region (including South America, Central America, and Mexico), the countries making up the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and the countries of the Middle East and the northern tier of Africa and product platform groups consisting of all harvesting products, hay & forage products and crop care products. As the leading officer based in Europe, he also heads the company's European Office.
von Pentz began his career with John Deere in the European Office in 1990 as an internal auditor. He held a number of positions of increasing responsibility in the Agricultural Division's marketing organization in Europe. In 1999, he was named General Manager of John Deere International, and in 2003 was appointed Director, Market Development for the United States and Canada. In 2005, von Pentz was named Vice President for Agricultural Marketing for the United States and Canada. In January 2006, he was named Senior Vice President, Marketing and Product Support – Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Prior to his current assignment, he was appointed President, Agricultural Division – Europe, Africa, South America and Global Harvesting Equipment Sourcing for Deere & Company in September 2007.
von Pentz is a graduate of Hamburg University with an advanced degree in business administration. von Pentz is a board member of the VDMA (German Equipment Manufacturers' Association) and a member of the regional advisory board of Deutsche Bank AG.
