Barry Schaffter

Barry Schaffter is Senior Vice President, Engineering and Manufacturing for the Worldwide Construction & Forestry Division of Deere & Company. Schaffter is responsible for the engineering and manufacturing areas of the division.
Schaffter joined John Deere in 1973 as a supervisor trainee at the John Deere Waterloo Works. He has held a variety of manufacturing and management positions, including General Manager, John Deere Ottumwa Works and John Deere Des Moines Works and Vice President of John Deere Ag Management Solutions. Prior to his current position he was General Manager, John Deere Waterloo Works
Schaffter holds a bachelor's degree in engineering management from the University of Missouri-Rolla.
Schaffter is a member of the board of the Academy of Engineering Management at the University of Missouri-Rolla. He is also a member of the board of directors of Living History Farms, and a board member of Junior Achievement of the Heartland and the Iowa Business Council.
