Worldwide Parts Services


Gail E. Leese is Vice President, Worldwide Parts Services for Deere & Company, a position she has held since July 2007. She is responsible for managing worldwide parts distribution, parts pricing and parts systems, brand licensing, and John Deere Merchandise, in support of the company's equipment divisions.

Leese joined John Deere in 1976 while in engineering school, and returned to the John Deere Technical Center upon graduation. She held several engineering assignments of increasing responsibility in materials, engineering mechanics and reliability before she left Deere for experience with the NASA Lewis Research Center. Subsequent positions with MTS Systems Corporation included extensive international experience in high technology marketing within the ground vehicle industry, followed by engineering management positions at Paccar ranging from product and vehicle evaluation to advanced technology.

Upon rejoining Deere as Manager of Engineering Mechanics at the John Deere Technical Center in 1998, she contributed to the advancement of product development simulation technologies. Leese held positions at John Deere Dubuque Works as Manager, Structural Analysis, and Operations Manager of Crawlers. In 2001, she was appointed Director, Quality/Reliability Services and the Customer Knowledge Center at Deere & Company. In October 2003, Leese was appointed Director, New Business Initiatives for the Worldwide Parts Division. Prior to the current assignment, in 2005 she was named General Manager, John Deere Davenport Works.

Leese holds a bachelor's degree in material science and engineering from Northwestern University and a master's degree in theoretical and applied mechanics from the University of Illinois. She has been active in the Society of Automotive Engineers, leading to publications in several technical forums.
