Raj Kalathur is Vice President, Sales & Marketing, China/India/South and East Asia/Sub-Saharan and South Africa for the Agriculture and Turf Division, a position he has held since May 2009. In the role, he is responsible for all agriculture and turf equipment marketing and sales in China, India, South and East Asia, and Sub-Saharan and South Africa. He is located in Singapore.
Since joining John Deere in 1996 in Finance, Kalathur has held positions of increasing responsibilities in the areas of business development, logistics, operations, marketing, and general management in U.S. and Mexican locations. He had assignments at Deere & Company as well as at the Commercial & Consumer and Agricultural Divisions. In February 2005, Kalathur led an initiative to set up the John Deere Technology Center India and subsequently led the successful integration of the Indian Tractor Joint Venture. In April 2006, he was named the Managing Director and CEO, John Deere India, with responsibility for John Deere's business activities in India.
A native of India, Kalathur has a master's degree in industrial engineering from the University of Alabama and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
