Dr. Bernhard E. Haas

Vice President, Manufacturing,
Global Tractor & Implement Sourcing



Dr. Bernhard Haas is Vice President, Manufacturing – Global Tractor & Implement Sourcing of Deere & Company, a position he has held since September 2006. He is responsible for the manufacture of tractor equipment for Deere & Company's global agricultural equipment operations.

Haas joined Deere & Company in 1986 at the John Deere Werke Mannheim (Germany), holding several positions of increasing responsibility. He transferred to the John Deere Product Engineering Center in Waterloo, Iowa, in 1991, and returned to the Mannheim factory as Manager of Focus Factory Drive Train in 1994. He later served as Manager, Product Engineering, and was appointed General Manager of John Deere Werke Zweibrücken in 1998. Most recently, Haas was General Manager, John Deere Werke Mannheim.

He is a member of the Supervisory Board of the University Mannheim, and the Club of Bologna, Italy. Haas is also a member of the German Engineering Association.

Haas received a master's degree in mechanical engineering in 1979 from the University of Karlsruhe. He later served as a postdoctorate research associate at the Professorship for Industrial Management and Science at the University of Kaiserslautern, where he received his Doctorate in Business Administration in 1986.
