James H. Becht James H. Becht

James H. Becht is Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, International, Deere & Company, a position he has held since March 2008. Becht leads Deere's law services supporting the company's operations and growth initiatives outside the U.S., Mexico, and Canada.

Becht joined Deere in 1979. He has served as Attorney, Senior Attorney, Chief Counsel of John Deere Credit, Assistant General Counsel of Deere & Company in Moline and in Mannheim, Germany, Corporate Secretary and Associate General Counsel, and most recently, as Associate General Counsel with responsibility for non-U.S. international and commercial law matters.

Becht received his bachelor's degree from Duke University and his Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University College of Law.

He is a member of the Illinois and Ohio bars, the American Bar Association, and the Association of Corporate Counsel. He is a member of the board of the Two Rivers YMCA in Moline.
