John Deere Feller Bunchers Offer More Hurry Up and Less Wait

MOLINE, Ill. (May 18, 2006)—John Deere’s new 643J and 843J Wheel Feller Bunchers take power and productivity to the next level. They feature the emission-compliant 6068H diesel engine, with an impressive 174 rated hp (130 kW) in the 643J and 225 rated hp (168 kW) in the 843J. That power boost dramatically increases these J-Series machines’ multi-functioning capabilities and cycle times, making operators noticeably more productive.

The best-in-class cabs on these feller bunchers not only set the standard in operator comfort, but the new forward-sloping windshield and larger skylight provide unsurpassed visibility as well.

The new hydraulically driven reversible cooling fan only runs when needed to cool the engine, maximizing horsepower and fuel efficiency. The fan also reverses to blow debris off the screen for better airflow into the engine compartment so it runs much cooler for increased uptime.

On the working end of the new J-Series machines is the new FD22B Felling Head. The redesigned, slightly offset accumulation pocket on this new head increases its capacity up to 20% more than the previous model. The power increase of the J-Series carriers takes full advantage of the increased capacity and provides quicker saw recovery so the operator can make his next cut without waiting on the saw.

With the improved tilt-back geometry on the head and the new link, the J-Series Feller Bunchers provide better load transfer capabilities and stability.

The John Deere 753G Track Feller Buncher, with 241 gross hp (180 kW) packs big performance into a compact machine. Its near-zero tail-swing and 360-degree rotation enables it to get into tight spots. Combine that with deep reduction drives, 29-inch (740 mm) ground clearance, a wide stance, and a lower center of gravity and you have a machine that can handle the most difficult terrain with confidence. And load-sensing hydraulics with innovative valve design greatly increases its multifunction capabilities and its productivity.

John Deere (Deere & Company – NYSE:DE) is the world's leading manufacturer of agricultural and forestry equipment; a major manufacturer of construction equipment; and a leading supplier of equipment used in lawn, grounds and turf care. The company was founded in 1837. John Deere construction and forestry equipment is distributed through a network of more than 600 independent dealers worldwide.
