The new 909J feller buncher is ahead of its time. With details like a cab floor window for all around visibility that operators love, versatility to be used for felling or harvesting applications, and the power and stability that all John Deere feller bunchers and harvesters carry, it makes you wonder if it can get any better than this.
The 909J adapts to the hillside with a new four-way tilting system. The leveling system, with smooth-cushioned control, keeps the center of gravity over the tracks to ensure stability in rough and sloped ground.
The undercarriage features ten tractor-type rollers to support the track chain and provide longer durability. Wide track gauge, long track frames and increased tractive effort offer superior climbing performance.
The 909J is powered by John Deere’s 6081H diesel engine that generates 294 maximum horsepower. Combine that with a new high-production crank and link boom, high-flow hydraulics, and outstanding saw blade power, and you get best-in-class multi-functioning that enables you to cut and cut like you’ve never done before.
An Advanced Harvester with Advanced Leveling
The 909J defines versatile: it is able to be used as either a feller buncher or a harvester. The 909J harvester incorporates the same stability, power, tractive effort and leveling system of the bunching machines, and adds a purpose-built harvesting boom with the choice of two heads for high productivity in steep-slope applications.
The versatile Waratah harvesting heads are big-time producers whether working at the landing, roadside or felling and processing in the woods.
The HTH622B cuts timber up to 30 inches (762 mm) in diameter and can process stems up to 24 inches (610 mm). It’s perfect for felling, delimbing, measuring and bucking.
The HTH624 is proven in medium to large wood up to 31 inches (780 mm) in diameter. It works best in felling stands where 80% of the trees are 20 inches (508 mm) or more. It can produce at the landing, roadside, or processing at the stump.
The design of the purpose-built harvester boom boasts a wide-cutting swath and long reach.
Visibility to Floor You
Visibility is taken up a notch on the 909J. The tinted, polycarbonate reverse-slope front window, skylight windows and side windows provide premium sight lines. The cab floor window gives you even more, allowing the operator to see the tracks, the ground, and the tilt on a slope.
The 909J is best in its class – a desirable choice for high production demands.
