The 1270D harvester has proven its efficiency in both thinning and regeneration felling all around the world.
Right-sized for high volume production in most thinnings, selective cuts in both plantation and natural stands, and for some regeneration harvesting, the 1270D harvester works comfortably on rough ground and in dense stands.
The harvester heads are reliable with various different feed rollers and motor options available.
The harvester is equipped with the strongest parallel boom of its class. The parallel boom has a high slew torque, and is easy to swing and control thanks to its logical motion. The boom is also easy to maintain. Four different boom reach lengths are available, depending on the working conditions and harvester head in use.
The efficient hydraulic system makes processing wood effortless. The large diameter hydraulic hoses and pipes reduce pressure loss. The high grade filter system lengthens the life of the components.
The front axles are patented, balanced bogie axles that provide high and wide ground clearance. Various options for wheels, chains and tracks are available. The rear axles are equally sturdy and reliable. The ground clearance is also generous. High tractive effort ensures great maneuverability even in the roughest of terrains.
The frame structure and middle joint are strong, resulting in a well-balanced unit with a powerful frame brake. The positioning of the middle joint, the steering angle of +/- 42 degrees, and the generous ground clearance make the harvester agile with a small turning radius.
The 1270D is powered by the John Deere PowerTech 6081 HTJ – the most powerful diesel engine used in harvesters. It has good fuel economy and reaches a maximum torque at low rpm. The cooling system for the engine and the hydraulics remains efficient in all conditions. The engine hood comprises two sections that are easily raised for access for maintenance.
Guided by the Total Machine Control (TMC™) system, the 1270D adjusts to the terrain and controls all boom and engine functions. Cab leveling and rotation options allow for maximum visibility at high efficiency.
The advanced Timbermatic 300 measuring and control system adds the finishing touch to the machine. Timbermatic 300 operates on a Windows-based computer that controls all cutting and processing functions. It is efficient, easy to program and easy to use.
Inside the cab, the operator can work in a relaxed, controlled environment, with features like ergonomic controls, air-conditioning, sound insulation, optional CD player / radio, and powerful lights for shifts in the dark. The cab conforms to safety regulations and provides excellent visibility in all directions. The large windows are made from tinted polycarbonate safety glass and is equipped with blinds for shade from direct sunlight. The sturdy ergonomic seat can be adjusted in several ways. The cab can also be equipped with Halogen or Xenon lights for shifts before or after daylight.
For any thinning or regeneration application, the 1270D harvester is ready to work comfortably, quickly, and accurately!
