1010D: Flexible Forwarding

1010D: Flexible Forwarding

Who says bigger is always better? The 1010D forwarder is compact and efficient, providing power for regeneration harvesting and agility for thinnings. It’s smaller size, compared to the 1110D, 1410D, and 1710D models, makes it ideal for moving through dense stands of wood – a great feature for loggers in a tight spot.

The 1010D is flexible in more ways than one. Not only does it offer great maneuverability due to its more compact size, but you can choose between a 6-wheel or 4-wheel drive version, as well as three boom configurations and two deck lengths to meet lift or reach requirements. The six-wheel 1010D rides on a high-walker, full-gear bogie axle. Mounted inside the rim, the axle increases clearance from side to side, further reducing the chance for hang-ups.

1010D: Flexible Forwarding

Equipped with the powerful CF5 loader combined with the Loader Control System (LCS), the 1010D forwarder makes loading in a tight spot fast and accurate. The standard CF5 72 loader provides a reach of 23-feet 7-inches (7.2 meters), while the optional CF5 85 and CF5 10 models can reach up to 27-feet 11-inches (8.5 meters) and 32-feet 10-inches (10 meters) respectively.

LCS ensures that operator preferences are met with precision and speed. It runs at a higher working pressure with lower hydraulic flow, allowing the operator to load and unload faster with greater lift capacity, and on less fuel. The result is big output at the lowest cost.

The 1010D forwarder, like its big brother models – the 1110D, 1410D, and 1710D – is powered by an industry-leading John Deere turbocharged diesel engine, the 4045H, which runs at lower rpms and matches power output to the heaviest demands. The powerful 4045H performs 115 hp / 86 kw at 2,000 rpm. The life of the engine and its components is extended as it works within its rated capacity.

1010D: Flexible Forwarding

Operators love the D series wheeled forwarders, which offer first class comfort for all seasons and exceptional visibility in all directions. The durable polycarbonate cab windows are tinted to reduce sun glare, and when natural light is in short demand, powerful work lights turn night into day.

When it’s time for routine maintenance and checks, ground-level access to frequent servicing points and hydraulic lift quickens the process.

Don’t let its smaller size fool you. The 1010D forwarder is built to top John Deere standards, ready for the woods and ready for round-the-clock reliability.
