New 300D Water Wagon Delivers Productivity

Stable as a Scraper, but with a Truck’s Traction, Fuel Efficiency

MOLINE, Ill. (March 5, 2007)-With all of the inherent advantages of an articulated dump truck, John Deere's new 300D Water Wagon also provides stability competitive with scraper-towed tankers.

The 300D's low center of gravity is delivered by a long, low tank and an extended truck frame. And since it is equipped with a Deere ADT six-wheel-drive power train, it delivers outstanding traction, gradeability and fuel efficiency, as well as a standard transmission retarder to extend brake life. The 300D also is easier to transport, since it is shorter than scraper-towed machines, according to Chris Maifield, product marketing manager, John Deere Construction & Forestry Company.

The 300D Water Wagon features a 7,000-gallon pin-in tank and a Tier 3 certified John Deere PowerTech™ Plus engine featuring 24-valve cylinder head and a variable geometry turbocharger. The truck delivers 285 net horsepower, with an operating weight of 49,100 lbs. A water cannon, hose reel and side spray are among the many options available. It will be available for purchase beginning in spring 2007, with first delivery planned for summer 2007. John Deere is partnering with Mega Corporation, the market leader in off-road water tanker conversions, to produce the new water wagon.

"This truck is best-in-class in numerous areas-30-ton ADT platform water capacity, transportability, traction, gradeability, ground pressure and operator comfort," Maifield said. "It truly is the best value in off-road dust control equipment."
