The Dubuque Works, which opened in 1947, manufactures crawler bulldozers, crawler loaders, backhoe loaders, tracked harvesters, tracked feller bunchers, knuckleboom loaders and skid steer loaders.

The Davenport Works began production in 1974 and today manufactures articulated dump trucks, four-wheel-drive loaders, motor graders, felling heads, wheeled feller bunchers, log skidders and cabs.

John Deere Forestry Oy, Joensuu, Finland - manufactures log forwarders, wheeled harvesters, energy wood bundlers and harvesting heads.

Some John Deere hydraulic excavators are produced by Deere-Hitachi Construction Machinery in Kernersville, N.C. Formed in 1988, Deere-Hitachi is a joint-venture company that manufactures excavators for Deere and Hitachi.

In 1998, the joint venture formed Deere-Hitachi Specialty Products. Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, it began shipping crawler-based forestry machines – delimbers, processors, log loaders and road builders in 1999.
