From concept planning through start–up, our manufacturing engineers have the opportunity for a variety of satisfying challenges, including:

  • Design and construction of John Deere facilities
  • Development of new and efficient layouts, processes, and computer–aided analytical programs and information systems
  • Maintenance management
  • Long–range facilities planning
  • Production technology research

operations

At John Deere, operations is directly responsible for producing equipment that helps feed and clothe people around the world. Here, production supervisors have the opportunity to apply their team–building and problem–solving skills, coordinate product launches and serve as liaisons between union and salaried workers. In operations, change is a constant with the introduction of new products, the implementation of new technology and the recruitment of additional team members to keep pace with our continuing growth.

As a key member of the manufacturing team at John Deere, you will have the opportunity to:

collaborate

Not only will you have the opportunity to work with John Deere’s wage workforce to improve productivity through safety, quality, efficiency and improved delivery, but you can also work with product design engineers to improve current products and co–design new ones.

As we make significant capital investments in new technology, our manufacturing engineers have the opportunity to act as project manager in efforts to identify new technology, determining its fit in our business, purchasing equipment, installing it and completing all initial prove–out. After installation, our mechanical engineers are responsible for continuously improving the process.

Because our mechanical engineers have the opportunity to rotate to different assignments, they can expand their skills, explore different career paths, and with the aid of our learning and professional development tools, advance locally or internationally.
