Flexible Work Arrangements

John Deere has a long-standing tradition of trying to help employees help themselves when it comes to work/life balance. While not every flexible work arrangement is available to every employee or every position, we do offer a few options at many of our units:

Flex time for salaried employees (ability to vary start and end time of work day)
Many first shift employees can start their work day anytime between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., assuming this is conducive to job responsibilities and team or department needs. Most John Deere employees use a form of flex time on a regular basis.

Telecommuting for salaried employees (work at home on a regular or irregular basis)
John Deere has had formal telecommuters since 1997. Telecommuting is handled on a case-by-case basis via conversation between employee and manager. It is best suited for people who have a record of high productivity and who are very self-directed.

A few units also offer compressed work weeks, split shifts and compensatory time.
