Control Systems/Mechatronics consist of application-specific combinations of components human operator, electrical, electronics, mechanical, software, chemical,( thermal, and fluids) acting together to maintain system performance.

Control systems are implemented:

  • To enhance product performance
  • To meet specific product requirements (i.e. Government Tier III engine emissions)
  • To reduce product and operating costs for the customer

Control system techniques and design processes are applicable across many disciplines and represent an indispensable component for the development and use of current and future technology. Many disciplines share skills related to control systems and mechatronics.

Future products will require integration of layers of sophisticated control systems technology. John Deere employs state-of-the-art technology in the rapid and functional prototyping of control systems.
